Being Present in Times of Transition
January 5, 2012
As I prepare to travel tomorrow, I am find myself practicing what I know about how to be present, even as I pack and plan and deal with endless details. The more present I am in each moment, the easier it is to remember what I need to do to make the journey have grace and ease rather than stress and exhaustion. When I catch myself out in front of myself – not even noticing what I am doing in that moment – I gently drop back into the sensations of my spine against the chair, or my feet on the ground and my breath deepens and relaxes. The more I am able to stay in the present moment, the easier it all gets. Try it next time you are in a big or little transition of some kind.
And, enjoy!
