Aloha Suzanne,
What a concept! Gravity is usually referred to as not a friend, but I like the way you described it as a "grounding" source of creating a place called "here" where we can be embraced, cradled, held, ect, in embodied in the lap of Mother Earth. What a way of sensing things on a grander scale of life.
I just got through teaching a LomiLomi Temple Massage class and I was having a hard time teaching a hands - on class of 22 students w/o a TA. I found that I felt totally frazzled and was having the hardest time feeling grounded and able to bring the spirit of "Aloha" to the class. Then a student let me know that there was an "ancient one" behind me and was frustrated. I looked at her and said that I didn't doubt it because I was feeling frustrated that I was having such a hard time feeling my connection to the islands that has always been so strong with me. After she brought my attention to the ancient one, I immediately felt more enveloped in the land, islands, and the earth. It was amazing what difference it made to feel enveloped by the earth and it's energy.
My plan for this Spring is to work with my back yard instead of fighting it. Allowing the plants to grow, in a compromised situation, that are so set on growing and then plant more of the plants that I feel so much spirit from.
The most awesome thing, is to watch a dove that has built a nest outside my back door on a trellis, (it is flat on top.) She sits so still. I find it fascinating. Life in all it's cycles is fascinating.
Aloha nui loa,
