Elaine Calenda, AOS, NCTMB graduated from the Swedish Institute in 1979 and gained clinical work experience at the Center of Osteopathic Sports Medicine in New York City. Elaine was an instructor at the Swedish Institute for six years, and in 1992 was invited to teach at Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT). Elaine contributed to the development of the AOS Medical Massage course and has participated in several massage therapy research projects. Elaine writes for massage and CAM publications and participates in a number of committees dedicated to the advancement of the profession. Elaine is a contributing author to the textbook Teaching Massage, published by Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins. She is currently the Academic Dean at BCMT and teaches sports, orthopedic and medical massage.
